West Plains Veterinary Supply is a wholesale regional distributor of pet foods, pet supplies, animal health products, farm supply products and lawn & garden products located in beautiful Springfield, Missouri. We deliver to over 500 independent retailers and veterinarians in Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Illinois with our own fleet of trucks.
We believe that bigger isn't always better when it comes to providing products to our customers. Being a regional distributor allows us to be more responsive to our customer's needs. Since we are a small business ourselves, we understand the issues our customers face when trying to compete with the big box stores and online giants. Our team is constantly working to provide products and flexibility in service to help you compete in today's market.
OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1962 by Bill Lowe, WPVS had a primary focus on distributing products to the cattle, swine and poultry industries. In 1968 Larry Wilcox joined Bill and later became the manager/owner of WPVS of Springfield.
Their vision has always been to be flexible enough to provide high quality products and services that are important to helping our customers be successful. Being animal lovers, WPVS decided to offer pet health products in 1990. Since that time, our distribution of pet products has grown to be over 70% of our total business. We are in our 60th year of operation and can proudly say we are still owned by the Lowe and Wilcox families.
