American Natural Premium was founded in 1998 by Gene Large and Jennifer Burlo as a way to provide high-quality pet food at an affordable price.

Both animal lovers, Gene and Jennifer already owned and ran Riverview Kennel on the beautiful Milwaukee River in rural Wisconsin. They were disappointed with the existing selection of dog foods. The foods seemed to be either overpriced or filled with inexpensive, unnatural products.

Gene and Jennifer seized the opportunity to improve the lives of pets - both their own and those of their customers - by creating delicious, natural foods at an affordable price. And so American Natural Premium (ANP as it is know by its loyal customer base) was born.

ANP foods focus on three main criteria: quality, taste and price. Each bag is produced using the highest standards of quality at one of America's oldest manufacturers, located in the heartland of the midwest. All recipes are carefully developed to ensure they are complete and balanced, delicious and affordable.
